tcSlider is a new add-on for Concrete5. I wrote the first version of the slider for a site I developed for a local client (www.classicwoodiesbylarry.com).  The code took much longer to write than all of the rest of the work that went into the site, so I wanted to see it used elsewhere.  My idea was always to release it as a public add-on for Concrete5, but it still took several months for tcSlider to go from first implementation to release. 

tcSlider offers many advanced features that might be difficult for non-programmers to use.  This was a big reason for the delay in release.  I went through several revisions of the code to make it easier to use, to round out the functionality, and to make it more bullet-proof for less experienced users.  In the mean time, I used a simple incarnation of tcSlider on another client site and offered a beta version to a select group of developers as a means of solicting feedback.

Feedback about tcSlider was uniformly good. I also received many requests for it from other people that had read about it on the Concrete5 forums.  So, I decided it was time to polish the code and submit it to the Concrete5 Marketplace.  The result is finally available for general release.
